Anthracyclines are an important chemotherapeutic agent in the treatment of many childhood cancers, but their use is associated with a significant rate of cardiomyopathy in survivors. This editorial discusses an article in this issue of Cancer by Singh and colleagues, who have found an association of the GSTM1 null variant with anthracycline‐associated heart toxicity.
