Nguyen et al compared the cancer recurrence‐free survival after radical prostatectomy among 2 groups of men diagnosed with prostate cancer due to an elevated serum prostate‐specific antigen (PSA): 1) those whose initial screening PSA was abnormal and 2) those with a history of previous normal screening PSAs. The study found group 1 to have more adverse pathologic features and recurrence‐free survival.
