External beam radiation therapy reportedly provides excellent palliation for painful vertebral metastases. However, to the authors' knowledge, the optimal prescription parameters are not well established with widespread heterogeneity. The authors' survey assessed the patterns of practice for palliative spinal irradiation that were most prevalent among radiation oncologists in India in general and compared them with the practice patterns at Tata Memorial Hospital.
