Examination of the published results of selected major studies of radiotherapy for T 3 bladder cancer strengthens two convictions: 1) that incidence and degree of radiation‐induced stage reduction are dose‐dependent and 2) that higher rates and greater degrees of tumor regression preoperatively are associated with higher rates of survival, i.e. high preoperative radiation doses are more effective than low ones.
