The Cover Feature shows a representative DNA gyrase B (GyrB) inhibitor/ciprofloxacin hybrid that penetrates into Escherichia coli and displays antibacterial activity. The observed antibacterial activity of these hybrid molecules is mainly due to interaction with GyrA and/or ParC and not with the GyrB subunit, because inhibition of GyrB by the presented hybrids, although present, is not strong enough to provide a substantial contribution to the observed antibacterial activity.
