The inside cover picture depicts a new strategy for the sustained release of orally administered drugs. The strategy avails the ability of a systemic enzyme, human pancreatic ribonuclease, to catalyze the cleavage of a ribonucleoside 3′‐phosphate prodrug. Efficacy against Bacteroides fragilis is demonstrated with metronidazole as the released drug. For more details, see the Communication by Ronald T. Raines et al. on p. 1361 ff.
