Molybdoenzyme XO inhibitors: A range of thiosemicarbazone‐ and hydrazone‐type Schiff bases was synthesised and characterised, some of which displayed potent xanthine oxidase (XO) inhibitory activity. The molybdenum(VI) complex of one of the Schiff bases was structurally characterised, revealing a tridentate meridional coordination mode.
