Cover: Non–Point Source Pollution of Dissolved Phosphorus in the Ethiopian Highlands: The Awramba Watershed Near Lake Tana M. A. Moges, S. A. Tilahun, E. K. Ayana, M. M. Moges, N. Gabye, S. Giri, and T. S. Steenhuis Clean – Soil, Air, Water 2016 , 44 (6), 703–709 DOI: 10.1002/clen.201500131 Lake Tana in the Ethiopian highlands is showing the first signs of eutrophication due to intensifying agriculture. The origin of the non–point source dissolved phosphorus pollution is examined. The periodically saturated and reduced valley bottomlands are the main source of P, while Maize grown mid–slope provides only P during high flow events. In consequence, converting the bottomlands to buffer zones can decrease non–point source pollution.
