The conversion of glycerol as a renewable feedstock into value‐added chemicals is of great significance from a viewpoint of the sustainable development. In this work, a series of Ni promoted noble metal catalysts including Pt m Ni n O x /TiO 2 , Pd 1 Ni 1 O x /TiO 2 with various metal compositions were prepared for glycerol oxidation in aqueous solution in the presence of NaOH. It was found that Ni significantly improved the activity of the noble metals to catalyze glycerol conversion, and lactic acid (LA) was the predominant product. The influence of the metal composition on the glycerol conversion and LA yield was investigated, and it was demonstrated that Pt 1 Ni 1 O x /TiO 2 displayed the best performance, giving a LA selectivity of 62.6% at the glycerol conversion of 99.1%.
