Molecular structure transitions, including photo‐induced configurational changes, chemical bond rotation‐induced stereoelectronic effects and hydrogen bond or other non‐covalent interactions, can be detected directly in real time through single‐molecule electrical approaches. This helps to explore the properties of molecules in depth. Therefore, various strategies using carbon electrode‐based single‐molecule junctions have been developed to study molecular structure transitions at the single‐molecule and single‐event level. More details are discussed in the article by Guo et al . on page 223—231.
