Reaction of the N ‐heterocyclic borane [ MeCCHC ( CH 2 )( NAr ) 2 ] BH ( 1 , Ar = 2,6‐ Me 2 C 6 H 3 ) with B( C 6 F 5 ) 3 afforded the zwitterionic hydroborane [ MeCCHC ( CH 2 )B( C 6 F 5 ) 3 ( NAr ) 2 ] BH , in which the β ‐methyl group can be deprotonated with LiN ( SiMe 3 ) 2 to yield an anionic zwitterionic borenium.
