Nucleophilic addition of primary aromatic amines to carbodiimides in the presence of catalytic amount of the mono‐indenyl‐ligated rare earth metal bis(silylamide) complexes (C 9 H 6 CMe 2 CH 2 C 5 H 4 N‐ α )Ln[N(SiHMe 2 ) 2 ] 2 at room temperature afforded efficiently a series of guanidines with a wide spectrum of substituents on the nitrogen atoms.
