A simple and practical approach for the preparation of unsymmetric bis(indolyl)methanes (BIMs) was realized by Lewis acid InBr 3 ‐catalyzed Friedel‐Crafts reaction of indoles with 3‐indolyl‐substituted phthalides in water.
