The novel ionic liquid with multi‐SO 3 H groups has been synthesized through the simple procedure and its catalytic activity for the oxathioacetalization was investigated carefully at room temperature under solvent‐free condition. The results showed that the novel ionic liquid was very efficient for the reactions with the average yields over 90%. Mild reaction conditions, high yields, small amount of usage, operational simplicity, needless of any solvent, wide applicability, reusability and chemoselectivity are the key features of this methodology.
