Abstract 14‐Aryl‐1,6,7,14‐tetrahydrodibenzo[ a , i ]acridine‐1,6‐diones have been synthesized in ionic liquid [bmim]BF 4 (bmim=1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium) at room temperature. Particularly valuable features of this method include high yields of products, recyclable reaction media, broad substrate scope, short reaction time and operational simplicity.
