A simple, convenient and environmentally friendly procedure for the synthesis of benzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2‐ a ]pyrimidine derivatives has been developed through a one‐pot three‐component reaction of aldehyde, β ‐dicarbonyl compound and 2‐aminobenzimidazole catalyzed by sulfamic acid under a solvent‐free condition.
