Sulfonyl‐substituted 1,3‐enynes were synthesized in moderate to high yields by Sonogashira coupling reaction of ( E )‐ β ‐iodovinyl sulfones with terminal alkynes. The sulfonyl group was further transformed to various substitutents by desulfonylation coupling with Grignard reagents in the presence of NiCl 2 (PPh 3 ) 2 .
