A systemic and comprehensive study has been made on the formation of 3 H ‐(pyrrol‐1‐yl)indolin‐2‐ones synthesized from various isatin derivatives and 4‐hydroxyproline catalyzed by InCl 3 under a refluxing condition in excellent yields (83%–99%) and purity.
