The composite nanoparticles of polystyrene/Fe 3 O 4 with a shell‐core structure were prepared in the mixed system of Triton X‐100 and SDBS. The shell of the composite nanoparticles was formed by polystyrene and the core by Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles. The diameter of Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles is about 10 nm and that of the composite nanoparticles 25‐35 nm. The XRD spectra and FTIR spectra show that the enwrapping of polystyrene with Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles was successful.
