Two kinds of zinc oxalate dihydrate (ZnC 2 O 4 ·2H 2 O) hollow nanostructures were synthesized successfully by a simple one‐step solid‐state reaction. ZnC 2 O 4 ·2H 2 O hollow nanospheres were obtained via grinding zinc acetate and oxalic acid, while ZnC 2 O 4 ·2H 2 O hollow nanochains were generated by the analogous reaction under the presence of a surfactant PEG 400. The as‐prepared samples were characterized by XRD, TEM, HRTEM, SEM, IR and TG/DTA
