A novel hydroperoxide cembrane‐type diterpenoid was isolated from the soft coral Sarcophyton crassocaule collected from the Xisha Islands in the South China Sea. The structure of 3 was established by spectroscopy and X‐ray diffraction analysis, named as sarcophyocrassolide A. It exhibited strong cytotoxicity against the P‐388 cell line with IC 50 value of 0.1 μg/mL.
