C 60 carboxylic acid derivatives can be readily adsorbed on the surface of nanocrystalline TiO 2 film. The C 60 carboxylic acids adsorbed on nanocrystalline TiO 2 films act as charge‐transfer sensitizer. The electron transport from TiO 2 to the C 60 derivatives results in the generation of the cathodic photocurrent. The short‐circuit photocurrent of a C 60 tetracarboxylic acid is 0.45 μA/cm 2 under 464 nm light illumination. The photoelectric behaviour of ITO electrodes modified by the same C 60 carboxylic acids is different from that of the modified TiO 2 electrodes, and shows anodic photocurrent.
