Under the excitation of UV light, the composition dependence of luminescence properties of Ce 3+ and Dy 3+ in BaLaB 9 O 16 has been studied. The mechanisms of energy transfer from Ce 3+ to Dy 3+ sad of concentration quenching of Dy 3+ emission under the excitation of UV light have been presented as well.
