Sight bis‐, two tris‐ and two mono‐crown ethers of Schiff base type have been prepared by the reaction of 4′‐formylbenzo‐15‐crown‐5 with diamines. Conductivity measurements show that the bis‐crown ethers form 1:1 complexes (crown ether unit : metal ion) with sodium ion and 2:1 complexes with potassium, rubidium and ammonium ion, respectively.
