2‐(Chloromethyl)furan as an electrophile reacted with lithium trialkylalkynylborates, followed by the oxidation with H 2 O 2 under basic condition to afford 2‐furfurylketones in good yields. This provides a new method for the preparation of 2‐furfurylketones.
