A new guanidinium hexamolybdobisphenylarsonate which is quite different from that reported in literature has been synthesized and characterized. This new salt which is isostructural with its tungsten congener crystallized as monoclinic, space group P 2 1 / a with cell dimensions of a =15.005 (1), b = 17.559(1), c = 18.008(2) Å, β = 97.24(1)°. Its elemental analyses, IR and UV spectra have been reported and discussed. Its thermal properties and electrochemical behavior have also been reported.
