Study on correction factor correlation in drop weight technique

By using the drop weight technique in four organic liquid‐water systems, the correction factor correlation for R/V 1/3 <0.3 has been deduced as: ϕ=1.007—1.479 ( R/V 1/3 )+1.829 ( R/V 1/3 ) 2 . The results show that correction factor is independent of the behavior of wetting and density difference between the two phases. The above formula could be applied to the calculation of interfacial tensions of liquid‐liquid and liquid‐gas systems provided R/V 1/3 is less than 0.3.
