The competitive photo‐oxidation of Ce 3+ on the surface of n ‐TiO 2 electrode before and after deposition of porous Ir‐needles was studied by using rotating ring‐disc electrode with interchangeable disc. It was found that highly dispersed porous layer composed of Ir needles could catalyse the photo‐oxidation of Ce 3+ . Basic postulates of catalyst of photoelectrochemical reactions were discussed.
