Five new bis (β‐carbomethoxyethyl)tin derivatives including R 2 Sn(acac) 2 (R = CH 2 OCOCH 2 CH 2 ), R 1 Sn(dbm) 2, R 2 SnO, R′ 2 Sn(dbm) 2 [R′=CH 2 OCOCH(CH 3 )CH 2 ] and R′SnO were synthesized. The structures of these compounds were compared with R 2 SnCl 2, R′ 2 SnCl 2, (C 2 H 17 ) 2 SnCl 2, and (C 2 H 17 ) 2 Sn(OCOC 11 H 2 ) 2. H NMR, IR and Mössbauer spectroscopic data showed that R′ 2 Sn(dbm) 2 contains a cis C‐Sn‐C unit, (C 2 H 17 ) 2 Sn(OCOC 11 H 23 ) 3 exists as a mixture of two isomers, while the other compounds have a trans C‐Sn‐C unit.
