Upon a critical review of pertinent literature, new theoretical expressions for dimensionless heat transfer rates between two parallel fixed circular discs and a fluid in radial divergent laminar flow are established and compared to previously published theory and experimental data. Based on the logarithmic mean temperature difference, the new analytical relationships are shown to adequately predict dimensionless heat transfer rates, and it is recommended that they be used in preference to certain earlier expressions which are either erroneous or of strongly limited applicability.
