This work investigates a general ventilation system for reducing the health hazard in industrial premises. Several tests carried out in a laboratory mock‐up have been used to validate the reliability of a general‐purpose computational fluid dynamic model. The same model has been also used to compare the efficiency of different ventilation systems. This clearly indicated the different health hazard related to each configuration, thus allowing one to identify the configuration leading to the lower contamination in the breathing zone.
