A technique is presented for the linearization of the reaction term of the differential equations describing mass transfer accompanied by chemical reaction, which is nonlinear with respect to the concentration of a solute transferring across the interface between two phases. The proposed approximation is demonstrated to yield remarkable accuracy by the analysis of a few diffusion problems under steady and unsteady state conditions.
