The thermal entry region heat transfer due to turbulent forced convection of a Newtonian fluid inside a parallel‐plate duct maintained at constant uniform temperature is solved analytically and the local Nusselt numbers are determined with a high degree of accuracy up to the region very close to the inlet. The calculated local Nusselt numbers are compared with those obtained from a recently proposed empirical correlation.
