A predictive method is provided for liquid phase mass transfer coefficients when a gas is absorbed by a turbulent liquid jet. The proposed correlation has been verified using the available experimental data. The universal character of the correlation has been demonstrated for a strikingly different flow situation involving gas absorption into freely falling turbulent liquid films.
