Prediction of pressure behind a rising bubble accelerating from rest

Numerical predictions are presented for pressure change left behind by an air bubble accelerating from rest in water. The computations are made with an implicit finite difference procedure for an axisymmetric system. The magnitude of pressure predicted compares well with the results of potential theory given by previous workers 1 .
