This paper describes an experimental study carried out to check the effect of high magnetic fields on the vapour liquid equilibrium of N 2 /O 2 . Significant effects were measured on the VLE curves, although these did not correspond to the earlier theory of Atroshchenko and Voronina (1) . This theory used a predicted effect on the vapour‐pressures of the pure components. The equilibrium cell is described in detail and the data measured showed increasing non‐ideality with increasing field strength due to an effect mainly on the liquid phase.
