A two dimensional model is proposed to predict mean radial and axial velocities for turbulently agitated fluids in baffled tanks with a turbine impeller. A particle dynamics model that simulates the movement of dipsersed phase particles in turbulent dispersion by a statistical Monte Carlo technique is coupled with this fluid dynamics model. The comparison of the flow directions, radial and axial velocity profiles, and the volumetric discharge capacities of the turbine impeller with the experimental data is favorable.
