Steady state and dynamic behaviour studies of a fat hydrolysis plant for handling a variety of feeds to produce a range of fatty acids for detergents and soaps are presented. These include optimization techniques for the steady state. Alternate techniques for product change are presented, and simulated using a dynamic simulator. The computer systems used are modular.
