A new double‐ring rotational‐torsional surface viscometer is described. It is shown that this represents an improvement of the conventional single‐ring device since secondary flow effects on viscosity measurements can be minimized or eliminated. Experimental results for some aqueous polymer solutions show that these effects can be substantial.
