A method of predicting the thermal phase boundary of aliphatic hydrocarbons is presented. Equations describe the saturated enthalpy boundary of pure substances and binary mixtures of hydrocarbons up to the critical temperature. A method of predicting the cricondentherm has been developed to establish the upper limit of the enthalpy envelope for binary mixed aliphatic hydrocarbons. Calculated enthalpies have an average deviation of 0.5% for pure hydrocarbons and 0.8% for mixed hydrocarbons.
