A simple and generalized equation has been developed for estimating latent heats of vaporization over a wide range of conditions up to the critical. The proposed equation extends the reduced reference‐substance plot of Gordon and employs the acentric factor of Pitzer. It is shown that the acentric factor is superior to the critical compressibility factor as the parameter for the correlation.
