Protein‐DNA‐interactions are essential for life on this planet, because without these interactions neither replication nor transcription nor DNA‐repair are possible. With the aid of many molecularbiological methods one would like to answer the following questions: What are the mechanism of recognition and regulation and what are the biological consequences of the protein‐DNA‐interaction under investigation.
