Organic Reactions without Solvent Reactions involving organic solids are of both fundamental and applied importance. First, they provide a basis for understanding structure‐property relationships in crystalline materials, and secondly, they offer opportunities (as yet largely under‐exploited) for environmentally‐friendly synthetic procedures requiring no solvent. The current state of the art is reviewed with special emphasis on possible practical applications.
