Reliability models of process plants. On the basis of a representation of typical redundant circuits and parameters characterising reliability, the models used for calculation the process plant reliability are explained and compared with regard to their applicability. In particular, the description of partial failures and effects of storage tanks on availability is taken into consideration. The application of reliability models is illustrated by simple examples.
