Droplet separators . Droplet separators are widely used for purification of process and exhaust gas streams. These separators must be of optimum design to keep the necessary investment and operating costs within limits. This requires a good knowledge of both the droplet size and the fractional degree of deposition of the equipment employed. Extensive studies performed in the past decade have permitted practicable solutions to be found for most of the separation problems involved. Use of suitable parameters provides as means of largely reducing the extensive data to simple deposition formulae.
