Dispersion in a liquid two‐phase system . The principal parameter of interest in the reliable design of stirred reactors for systems of two immiscible liquids (extractors, polymerization reactors) is the interfacial area between the two liquids. However, a knowledge of further operating parameters, such as the minimum number of revolutions per unit time for complete dispersion, rotational speed for phase inversion, and the scale‐up behaviour, is very important. Results published so far on these questions are surveyed.
