Inspired by the natural photosynthetic apparatus, research efforts are directed towards the development of artificial photosynthetic model systems. This perspective introduces recent advances in developing photobioelectrochemical cells based on native photosystems, the synthesis of DNA‐based artificial photosynthetic modules, and the assembly of dynamic networks mimicking photosynthesis.
