The catalytic use of metallic couples acting in a cooperative way arises as a powerful tool affording novel and efficient chemical transformations. In this article, a series of complexes containing M−M′ bonds (M=Pd, Pt; M′=Ag, Au) is described. They can be regarded as arrested intermediates or snapshots of a transmetallation process that becomes “frustrated” given the nature of the “disputed” R fragment. Still, some gradation in the transfer can be evaluated depending on the M−M′ couple, and all together they compose a short movie allowing the progression of such processes to be ranked.
