Conductive metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) have put forward an impressive step towards the smarter world. Herein, all the significant efforts towards the formation of conductive MOFs from their infancy state are recollect. The rudiment of charge transfer mechanism, design strategies, and (or) post‐synthetic modifications to achieve conductivity in MOFs, associated theoretical explanations, and spectroelectrochemistry to realize the charge transfer is described. A potential outcome towards electrochemical applications has been summarized. More information can be found in the Review by S. Mandal et al. on page 11482 ff.
