Explaining the oxidation–cyclization mechanism of heterocycles containing Te−O bonds. The structures of halogenated Te‐containing heterocycles have been elucidated, and computational methods showed them to be prepared in a two‐step oxidation–cyclization. The three compounds shown represent both the structural diversity and the biological application of these hypervalent compounds as leishmanicides.
